David A. Stearns

Author Biography

DAVID A. STEARNS, author of The HAWALADAR, is a former banking executive who served as President and CEO of several northern Illinois commercial banks during a career spanning over 35 years of active banking. In recent years he has occasionally consulted within the industry while pursuing completion of his first book.

A native of Illinois, Mr. Stearns entered the field of banking after serving as a commissioned officer in the United States Army during the late 1960s, rising to the rank of Captain prior to leaving the military. While on active duty, Mr. Stearns served two tours as an instructor with the Army’s Ranger Training Command. Between tours with the Rangers, he commanded a unit of the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam where he saw significant combat action and was seriously wounded during the heavy fighting of late 1968.

David is the father of two sons and one daughter, and grandfather of four very special grandchildren. A lover of the outdoors, he and his wife, Rebecca, now reside in the State of Alaska, where the proximity of seemingly limitless wilderness with its accompanying beauty provides a muse of immense inspiration.

The HAWALADAR, Mr. Stearns’ first novel, is the beginning installment in The Money Trail series, a three-part offering that chronicles the activities of Logan Hart—a financial expert with the skills of a special military operator—in his effort to interdict the financial activities of criminal cartels, rogue governments and terrorist organizations who threaten peace and stability throughout the world.
